Kids Will Be Kids…of Summer
Parents, don't worry about the kids being cooped up inside all summer. Instead, let them be Kids of Summer! Kids of Summer (KOS) is a playground program for children who are looking for some outdoor summer fun every
Monday through Thursday from June 10 to Aug. 15
At KOS, kids ages 6 to 11 can get the sweat glands working with a variety of sports, cool off with water games, bring out their creative spirit with arts and crafts – and have fun at a carnival and a number of field trips!
In addition to regular playground fun, special events include multiple visits from the water truck, critter guy, puppet wagon and storytellers. Field trips include movie fun, free KOS carnival, a trip to the Apple Valley Pool and a visit to the Air Max Trampoline Park.
“My favorite part of Kids of Summer is just being able to play different games and activities with the kids,” says KOS leader Cody Rondeau, who has worked with KOS for years. “Every day can bring something new and it is fun to see the kid’s reactions to what we have planned or new games we play.”
KOS is held in four locations - Neill Park, Paha Sapa, Red Oak and Vista View. The cost is $65 for the summer, which includes the KOS carnival (field trips are an additional fee).
Morning Hours are 9:30 a.m. to noon and afternoon hours are 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.. KOS also offers a day pass for $5 and a weekly pass for $15. For more information and event calendars visit www.burnsville.org/KOS.
“Little Tykes” (ages 4 to 6) can also join their friends for fun and exciting activities. This program has the same great activities as Kids of Summer, but is geared toward younger ages. Maximum is 35 so register early!
“A couple things that I am looking forward to this year are just seeing the kids again, and the Sky Zone field trip, it’s one of the best we have had in recent years,” said Rondeau.
