Burnsville Healthy City
The City of Burnsville has established a Healthy City Initiative with the goal of becoming the “
Healthiest City in America”
. We have formed a committee including many partners in the Burnsville area to reach this goal of becoming a healthy city.
Our partners include:
Mayor Elizabeth Kautz
City of Burnsville Recreation Department
Dakota County Public Health
Minnesota Valley YMCA
Fairview Ridges Hospital
Over the past 3 years, thousands of people have participated in Healthy City programs, and the movement tword a healthier city continues today! in 2010, the city of Burnsville and the Recreation Department will be offering classes and events to promote the benifits of improving your lifestyle to be a healthier you. We encourage you to do more that you did yesterday. Two examples of this are parking your car further away from the door to get some extra walking in that day or reading a good book rather than watching television at night.
Check back for updated information as activities will be continually added to our calendar or
sign up
to receive notices and updates via email.
The Burnsville Recreation Department has also prepared a trail guide highlighting different trails and routes for residents to utilize throughout the City of Burnsville. These booklets are available at no cost in the Burnsville Recreation Department located in City Hall or
