Burnsville’s Boards & Commissions

The Burnsville City Council is seeking applications from persons who are interested in serving the community as a member of a Commission or Committee. These positions are appointed and serve as advisory bodies to the City Council. The Council is also seeking applications from high school juniors and sophomores who are interested in membership on the Parks and Natural Resources Commission. The commissions and committees are responsible for researching, reviewing, and making recommendations on related issues.

Opportunities for service are available on the Economic Development Commission, Heart of the City Design Review Committee, Parks and Natural Resources Commission, and Planning Commission.

All terms begin on June 1st and these positions are open to Burnsville residents ages 18 and older. Some membership  on the Economic Development Commission and the Design Review Committee are open to people that have a business located in the City.

The deadline for filing applications is 4:30 p.m. on Monday, May 3, 2010 and the City Council will conduct interviews for these appointments during mid-May.
